What was at stake
A guided tour has to work while someone is walking around a city they don't know, with a phone in one hand. GPS drifts, the screen locks, the network drops between checkpoints — and there is nobody standing next to them to fix it.
The calls I made
- Closed the gap between the two builds — video hero, insets, gradients, fonts, audio and navigation, one defect at a time.
- Reworked the location and geofence model so checkpoints trigger where they should, not where the drift says.
- Made the layout survive any window size, and the copy survive any locale.
- Chased the small failures that ruin a tour — buffering nudges, safe-area spacing, stale checkpoint controls.
What outlived it
- 4.9 on the App Store.
- Shipping every couple of weeks.
